Raúl García
Signs contract extension until 2031
Garcia has signed a contract extension with Osasuna until June 2031, a five-season commitment that adds three years to his previous deal, the club announced.
Analysis: Garcia ends his third season at Osasuna having scored 14 goals across all competitions, seven in La Liga and seven in the Copa del Rey, with the latter total making him the top scorer in the cup competition this edition. Garcia has now scored 27 goals in three seasons for the club, a tally that places him alongside some of the most important strikers in Osasuna's recent history such as Webo and Nino, all while competing for minutes with Ante Budimir, the club's all-time top scorer in the top flight.
Records three shots
Garcia generated three shots (two on goal) and one chance created in Saturday's 1-0 loss to Getafe.
Analysis: Garcia earned the start Saturday and had a decent outing with his three shots, coming in his first start since November. However, the forward would not score a goal, ending the campaign with seven despite mainly appearing from the bench. He then recorded eight goal contributions in his 36 appearances (six starts), a solid boost off the bench this campaign for Osasuna.
Impact substitute appearance
Raul Garcia assisted once to go with two crosses (two accurate) and four chances created in Tuesday's 2-1 loss to Atletico Madrid.
Analysis: Raul Garcia assisted the lone Osasuna goal Tuesday as they fell in a narrow 2-1 home defeat to Atletico Madrid. Over his last five appearances (zero starts), the forward has scored twice from five shots (four on goal) and assisted once. Raul Garcia has made 21 successive substitute appearances since he was last named to the Osasuna starting XI in November.
Scores equalizer off bench
Garcia scored one goal to go with four shots (three on goal) and one cross (zero accurate) in Sunday's 2-1 win over Sevilla. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 94th minute.
Analysis: Garcia checked in during the 71st minute and wasted no time making an impact, needing just nine minutes to deliver a calm left-footed finish from inside the box in the 80th minute to pull Osasuna level at 1-1 and ignite the comeback win. He stayed aggressive the rest of his shift, ripping three more shots in just 19 minutes which marks a season high for the striker while also chipping in two clearances in a solid cameo. Garcia is now up to six goals in 31 appearances (five starts) this campaign, matching his career-best return with the club from the 2023/24 season.
